Buykx-Smith makes his return 

Emerging key forward Christian Buykx-Smith will make his return to football tomorrow after missing most of last season due to a skin infection following the Round 6 match against the Northern Blues.

The adversity he and his family went through will not be forgotten by his teammates having been hospitalized for three weeks with Necrotizing Fasciitis, a skin infection inside the body.

Following a number of surgeries, Buykx-Smith re-joined his teammates mid-season with his rehabilitation taking a slow and steady rebuild back to his original playing weight and strength.

Now back at full health Buykx-Smith makes his return against the Dolphins this weekend.

“His return is one of strength, resilience and courage given what his body has been through at the time of the infection and the rehab that followed. No doubt his family will be proud to see him return to the field along with his teammates who have been through the journey with him” said GM-Football Stephen Soulsby.

The Williamstown Football Club is thrilled to see Christian back in action.
