Catterall completes She Can Coach program

Williamstown VFLW head coach, Amy Catterall, recently completed AFL Victoria's ‘She Can Coach’ nine-month program.

The program consisted of 17 coaches identified through the NAB League, Swisse Wellness VFL Women’s and AFLW environments.

Catterall was mentored by renowned St Kilda Assistant Coach Peta Searle who was recently recognised in the latest Queen Birthday honours for her services to football.

The program was funded under the Victorian Government's ‘Change Our Game’ initiative, designed to invest in the development of the next wave of talented female coaches.

Catterall found the program beneficial in terms of the support the program offered

"It's great to have mentors supporting female coaches and helping more women achieve positions within both programs of the AFL," she said.

"One of the things I really enjoyed about the program was the guest speakers, they shared their own journey within their careers or coaching, and spoke about the importance of resilience. I really look forward to following the careers of the other women within the program and I hope to see them within both the AFL programs."

Both the Club and Amy are grateful to AFL Victoria for the opportunity to undertake the program that supports coaches coming through the talent pathways.
