VFLW Seagulls Add More Class
Williamstown Football Club is excited to announce two more additions the thier VFLW team in Rachael Jackson and Sarah Chapman.
Jackson, 24, is relatively new to the football seen despite her love for the game. With no women's teams where she lived her football career started in 2017 with the Melton Centrals. While the team only won the two games, Jackson starred on her way to best and fairest honours.
Jackson says she jumped at the opportunity to try out for the Seagulls.
"From the moment I received that phone call, every day has felt like Christmas morning!"
"I'm waking up thinking about football, and how I can be the best player possible by working with not only a great team of players but support staff as well."
"Next year my goals are to refine my skills and learn from the more experienced players. I sense that there is a lot more to being a football player than just on the field performance, so I can't wait to see where the VFL with Williamstown will take me."
Chapman, 31, like Georgia Harris comes from the St Kilda Sharks and has played over 100 games for the Sharks and was also co-captain of the club. Chapman brings a wealth of experience to the Seagulls and will look to guide the young squad and lead from example in 2018.
"I'm very lucky to have been able to play at VFL (used to be called premier before VFLW) for 10 years, and so grateful that Williamstown has given me this amazing opportunity to be part of a new side late in my career."
"From the moment I walk in the door Williamstown has been very welcoming and can already sense how amazing the culture is. Football is more than a game to me and I feel honoured to join and be part of the Williamstown family."
