Skipper returns for Cats clash

Williamstown VFL captain Adam Marcon has been named to take on Geelong this Sunday after being sidelined by an ankle injury.

Marcon missed the side's 38-point win over Coburg last Saturday which secured a top four finish with two matches remaining, however has been named in the middle in a massive contest against an in-form Geelong outfit.

Forward Josh Pickess is also in line to make a return from a foot injury, as well as defender Brayden Monk who has overcome a groin issue.

Dynamic forward Jaylon Thorpe has been named after missing the battle with the Lions, while Christian Buykx-Smith, Sam McLarty and Cooper Stephens could also feature.

Sam Martyn will miss after his three-goal haul against the Lions, with Jason Pongracic and Leigh Masters also set to miss.

The Seagulls were tested in tough conditions at Downer Oval but managed to pile on the final four goals of the match to ensure a double chance in the finals series.

Sixth-placed Geelong has won four matches in a row and is coming off a 102-point smashing over North Melbourne last weekend.

Charlie Constable collected 41 disposals and booted two goals in the win for the Cats who are looking to secure a finals berth.

It will be the first time the two sides have faced off this season. The game can be viewed on Channel 7 or the 7 Plus website/app.

*Please note due to conditions at Downer Oval, the match has been re-scheduled for 11:40am at Avalon Airport Oval, Werribee this Sunday.
