Williamstown hold Mother's Day Luncheon

On Sunday afternoon our VFLW women played their first ever home game in the history of the club.

To celebrate we had a star studded Mother’s Day Luncheon before the game was played. Dr Susan Alberti was a keynote speaker and her passion and fire was clear to see talking about her story and how the women’s game is progressing.

Club director Michelle Redfern then hosted an all female panel featuring Carol Fox the President/Chair of Women Sport Australia, Bridie O’Donnell the head for Women in Sport & Recreation, and Former AFLW premiership winning coach for the Adelaide Crows Bec Goddard, discussing a range of issues facing women in sport.

Guests were treated to a lovely three course meal provided by Club sponsor, Hellenic Hotel. 

Our next VFLW function will be on the 27th of May when the club will be celebrating a Pride Game against the Richmond VFLW team featuring Russell Greene as guest speaker.

Our Women’s Lunch will be held on Sunday 17th of June featuring Australian Netball (Diamonds) coach Lisa Alexander.
