VFLW squad announced for game 1  

Williamstown's VFLW team has announced its squad for Saturday night's historic clash against the Western Bulldogs.

With the match starting at 7:00pm, it will be the first ever VFLW night game at Downer Oval.

Eleven women will make their debut fir the Seagulls with big name recruits Aliesha Newman and Moana Hope headlining the list.

Gemma Anderson, Sabrine Navarro, Danica Peterson, Eliza Straford, Annabelle Shannon, Jess Thomson, Emily Crawford, Sophie Barbas and Ruby Tripodi are the others who will wear blue and gold for the first time on Saturday.

Ruby Tripodi will be the 23rd player after an impressive midfield performances for the Western Jets in the 2019 NAB League Youth Girls competition. Tripodi also becomes the first Williamstown junior to play in our VFLW side.

Co-captains Jacinta Reid and Nikki Wallace wil also lead the side for the first time.

While the game is scheduled as a round 2 clash, it will be the women's first official game of the season as they had the bye in round 1.

We encourage every to come down and support the women as they hope to get their season off to a great start.
