Young Talents Re-Sign

Williamstown Football Club has locked away two more of its young talents in Mitch Norton and Josh Minogue as the off-season re-signing and recruitment period continues.

Having both completed just their second seasons with the Club, the promising young pair had solid seasons at Senior and Development levels as they continue to develop their games.

Norton, 21, played a career-high seven senior games in 2017, kicking seven goals in those games and showing off his potential as being one to watch in the future. In addition to his seven senior matches, Norton was again prolific at Development level, finishing equal fifth in the Development Best & Fairest despite playing just 12 games, in six of which where he was named among the team's best players. Blessed with pace and lightning quick off the mark, Norton will be out to improve yet again in 2018 and put his hand up for further senior selection.

Minogue, also 21, built on his promising first year with the Club at Development level with a strong second season. Taking on a more prominent role within the Development team in 2017, Minogue's ability to work hard up and down the ground to provide a key target was a key facet of his game, along with his high contested marking. Minogue was named among the Development team's best players on seven occasions in his 19 games, kicking 12 goals and finishing fourth in the Best & Fairest. He will be hunting for a VFL senior debut in 2018.
