Players return after mid-season bye in our VFLW Community Wrap

(Shani Dixon in action for Spotswood on the weekend)

With last week’s mid-season bye for many competitions, we had seven players continue their season; let’s look at their performances.

We start in the WRFL where Kayla Koropeckyj and Shani Dixon helped Spotswood to a comfortable 85-point win over league leaders and the previously undefeated Caroline Springs, to move alongside Caroline Springs into top position. In other results Emily Gardner kicked two goals as Point Cook lead from start to finish in their 42-point win over North Sunshine.

To the VAFA where Kasie Nugent and Sally Seabrook put in strong performances for Westbourne, as they walked away with a 50-point win over Whitefriars OC to move them two points out of the top four. In other results, the EDFL saw Zoe Hardiman 3rd best for the Sunbury Lions, as they were defeated by the Sunbury Kangaroos by 82 points.

In the NFNL, Kaitlin Smith worked hard for Diamond Creek as they went down to Darebin by 14 points but remain in the top four with three rounds remaining whilst in the South East Women’s League, Kailyn Carew played well in tough conditions for Mornington, as they suffered a heartbreaking one-point loss to the Eastern Devils.
