Whilst we returned to VFL action, we had 11 boys feature for their community clubs over the weekend with some very strong performances.

In the EDFL, Daylan Kempster’s 2 goals and overall performance saw him named in the best for Maribyrnong Park; however they could not beat Greenvale, going down by 7 points, whilst in division 1 Tyson Young’s 2 goals saw him among the best in Airport West’s big win over Oak Park.

In Division 1 of the Northern Football League, Fletcher Carroll kicked a goal and was 2nd best on ground for Heidelberg in their thrilling 3 point loss to Greensborough, whilst Jaylon Thorpe kicked 2 goals for West Preston Lakeside in their big win over Northcote Park.

In Division 2, Corey Sleep was Lower Plenty’s 2nd best player with 26 disposals and 2 goals in their 32 point win over Diamond Creek.

In the South Eastern Football League, Bailey Morrish continued his fine form with 34 disposals and 4 goals in a best on ground display for Beaconsfield in their big win over Doveton whilst in the Eastern League, Jason Pongracic’s pressure around the stoppages was key for South Croydon in their 20 point win over Blackburn.

In the Country Leagues, Darby Henderson kicked 2 goals and was 2nd best for an inaccurate Echuca in their trilling 5 point win over Euroa, whilst Ryley Monkhorst kicked 2 goals in Woori Yallock’s 11 point defeat to Monbulk.

In the Ballarat League, Liam Carter was among the best for Melton in their 16 point over Sebastopol, whilst in the Geelong League Cooper Stephens worked hard all day for Colac in their big win over Bell Park.

Most community club seasons are either coming to an end or heading into finals, so we take a look at our 4 women to feature over the weekend. In the WRFL, Kayla Koropeckyj kicked 2 goals for Spotswood in their 77 point win over West Footscray, whilst Krystyn Raymundo was a solid contributor in Caroline Spring’s 22 point loss to Manor Lakes.

In the Northern Football League, Shae-Lee Murphy-Burke continued her fine form with another best on ground performance for Diamond Creek in their 22 point win over Darebin in the elimination final, whilst in AFL Goldfields, Rachael Jackson worked hard all day in Melton Centrals 23 point over Lake Wendouree.
