Walters to miss rest of the season

Off-season recruit Hayden Walters has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after rupturing his ACL whilst playing in Grovedale’s big win a couple of weeks over Lara.

Having kicked 5 goals that day, Walters day ended when tackled in the last quarter of the match with scans later revealing the rupture.

Walters will undertake surgery later today to repair the ACL with aim of having him ready for the start of the 2019 season.

"Both Hayden and the Club are saddened by the news, but with immediate surgery happening today, it will allow us to ensure he can complete his rehab over the remainder of the season to give him every chance of being ready for round 1 in 2019" said Williamstown General Manager of Football, Stephen Soulsby.

Williamstown Football Club wishes Hayden well in his recovery.
