Accelerated program play Williamstown Seagulls Cup
On Thursday our Accelerated Program played off in a giant battle for the inaugural Williamstown Seagulls Cup.
The game saw the Year 7-9 Girls from our two Accelerated Programs from Williamstown High School and Bayside Secondary College. Williamstown High School ran out victors in a tight encounter.
The game was a roaring success with everyone having an exceptional time and demonstrating the skills they have learnt throughout the year. The two school teams were coached by our Accelerated Coaches Luke Goetz and Darby Henderson.
The game was also umpired by one of our fellow Williamstown High School Accelerated Students from the Boys program, who demonstrated his bright future in Umpiring AFL Football.
Williamstown FC’s Community & Operations Manager Andy Dandridge said about the day
“The day couldn’t of been run any better, the sun was out and we had a terrific day for football. Credit to Nolene (Bayside Secondary College) and Steffi (Williamstown High School) for their efforts throughout this year and on the day to make this game possible. All the girls tried really hard and put in some terrific performances which made for a great game. Hopefully we can next year further enhance the program to have a game between the boys programs and make it an annual occurrence.”
