Connolly & Ebinger sign for 2019

Williamstown Football Club is can announce the signing of Ben Connolly and the re-signing of Nick Ebinger for the 2019 season.

Connolly a developing key defender and a Williamstown CYMS teammate of Ebinger and Kal Dawson, had a breakout season with CY’s playing in all 20 matches at Premier C level as a 19yr old. His selection in the Vic Metro under 19’s team in 2018 was warranted with his early season form at Full Back and he will look to learn off his new Seagulls teammates Joel Tippett, Sean Gregory and Sam McLarty to take his game to another level.

Ebinger is another player who showed his potential in 2018 with the high flying forward looking to add to his 7 VFL matches since joining the Club in 2016. Ebinger showed great form in the VAFA Premier C competition for Williamstown CYMS when he wasn’t selected at VFL, kicking 42 goals from 14 matches.

“Nick and Ben have been developing well over their respective journeys at VFL & Williamstown CYMS level. It’s a credit to them both given they haven’t come through the traditional pathway of the Western Jets here in the local area. Credit also to CY’s in the development work they have put into their players and given the current environment, they will benefit from having the 3 players on our list in 2019 if they aren’t selected at VFL level on any given weekend” said GM-Football Stephen Soulsby.
