Vale - Bill Mitchell

The Williamstown Football Club is saddened to hear of the passing of 1969 premiership player Bill Mitchell.

Mitchell played mostly in the back pocket for the 'Gulls in his 28 games in 1969-70 and was a vital member of the 1969 premiership side. He also managed to kick 7 goals, including four in one game against Camberwell at Williamstown in round 5, 1969.

Bill took up lawn bowls after footy where he was very successful, winning 54 major titles with one being a state title. The thing he was most proud of was winning singles, pairs, triples and 4's with his boys all in the 1 year.

Our condolences are extended to his family and friends at this time.
