Seagulls visit school footy days
Over the past three weeks, Williamstown Football Club players and staff have headed out to the community school footy days.
The Seagulls and their ever favourite off-sider Speccie made their way to a number of school days and clinics to help promote the VFL Love the Game Finals Series and the promotion of footy throughout the community.
Highlights of the school visits were VFL player and local boy Ben Connolly got to visit his old stomping ground at Williamstown Primary School and award some ‘Willi kids’ awards at their assembly.
Sharnie Whiting showed off her elite VFLW kicking skills at Jennings St. School in Laverton.
First year Seagull Sophie Barbas was a crowd favourite with all of the young budding Grade 3 girls at Williamstown North PS, while VFLW young gun and former Western Jets captain Maddy-Eve Fenech gave away some special prizes at Seaholme Primary School.
Kaitlyn Carew also taught over 200 students at Sacred Heart PS in Newport the art of handballing.
Williamstown Football Club thanks all the schools for allowing the Seagulls and Speccie to make the trip out and look forward to the ongoing connection and support from local Hobson’s Bay schools. Thanks also to the Western Jets and AFL SEDA for their contributions.
