Seagulls make it three straight with win over Blues

Williamstown have won their third straight game defeating the Northern Blues 43 points on Saturday afternoon.

The Seagulls used a six goal to one first term to the blow the game open and cruise to a big win.

Sam Dunell was the star kicking five goals in a tremendous display as he worked tirelessly all day.

Jaylon Thorpe provided a target up forward in his return kicking two goals against his former side, while Ben Cavarra continued his blistering start to the season also kicking two goals.

The defensive group was again outstanding holding the Blues to just two goals through the first three quarters with Peter Faulks, Nick Rodda and Leigh Masters all standing up under enormous pressure all day.

The midfield brigade was superb all day with Michael Gibbons, Brett Bewley and Ben Jolley immense in the clinches leading the forays forward for the day.

In the last it was a scrappy affair with the rain starting to come down and slow the play down but the Seagulls proved too good on the day for a young Blues outfit.

Williamstown will have the bye next week before taking on Geelong in two weeks time.

Final Score

Williamstown: 12.6 (78)

Coburg: 5.5 (35)

Goals: S.Dunell 5, Cavarra, Thopre 2, Schutlz, Schnerring, Dorgan 1
