Williamstown is excited to announce that Fremantle native Katrina Tinson has joined the Club for the upcoming VFLW season.
The WAFL and the WAFLW have respectively released several incredible players into the footy world, especially the team where Tinson has transferred from - the East Fremantle Sharks. Previous members include AFL superstars, Patty Cripps, Josh Kennedy and Harry Taylor - clearly no shortage of excellence has been picked out of the club.
Tinson has become a household name in the WAFLW competition, not only contributing to the Sharks' winning seasons, but being selected to represent the state in national competitions as well as being on the Dockers' scouting report.
East Fremantle won back-to-back premierships in the WAFLW similar to another signing in teammate Charlotte Thorne. Both will add plenty of successful experience to the side.
Twenty-three-year-old Tinson has now come over to the VFLW after being approached by several clubs including Williamstown, where she felt at home.
"The team just felt positive, I came to one session and as soon as I got here I felt valued," Tinson said.
Coach Penny Cula-Reid has several major focuses for the up and coming season but building good chemistry and a team bond is vital and it's encouraging signs to see that as early as the pre-season the team is clicking.
Tinson is now well into her pre-season training where she looks forward to taking on this new competition with a new cast of opponents.
We look forward to seeing Tinson further evolve in the midfield for the blue and gold.
