Meese, 29, won his first Gerry Callahan Medal after another dominant season in the ruck where he averaged over an incredible 60 hitouts a game which was not only a VFL best, but better than any other ruckman playing state-league football in the country. He was also a battering ram at the stoppages, averaging seven tackles and five clearances per game. Meese won the Club's Best in Finals award, and also VFL Team of the Year honours for the fifth time, and fourth straight time as a Seagull.
