Experienced Duo Re-sign

.

Williamstown Football Club is happy to announce the re-signings of Rachel Achampong and Kaitlin Smith for the 2019 VFLW season.

Achampong had a solid first season in the blue and gold in 2018 as Vice-Captain of the side playing in 13 of the 14 matches. Voted amongst her peers for the players player award, Achampong’s leadership around the group was second to none and provided great voice both on & off the field for the ground.

Smith had a very consistent season as she broke her way into the side having missed the first game. The pint-sized winger brought a wide-range of attributes to the side last year. A seasoned player, her best outing was in the final game triumph against Melbourne Uni, finishing with five tackles and second best honours.

“Both Rachel and Kaitlin provided terrific experience around the group having both played in the original VWFL premier competition before transferring over to now the VFLW. As a Club, we will continue to benefit from the experiences but also their leadership in the various aspects of the Club” said GM-Football Stephen Soulsby.
