Seagulls to regain mercurial forward
Williamstown will be boosted by the return of excitement machine Jaylon Thorpe as the side prepares to take on the Northern Blues this Sunday.
The livewire forward has missed the side's past two matches after an ankle injury forced him on the sidelines, but is expected to pull on the boots against his former side at Preston City Oval.
The 24-year-old will be joined by fellow returnee Brayden Monk who is in line to make a comeback from a groin injury, while Sam McLarty, Nick Mellington and Jesse Tardio have all been named on the extended bench at the expense of midfielder Sam Martyn.
The VFL team will also be without Ben Kennedy who was a late withdrawal from our Round 15 clash.
The Seagulls will be looking for their fourth win in a row this weekend after their eight-point win over the Magpies put them two games clear inside the top four.
It was a low-scoring affair at Victoria Park with no side able to punish the other in wintery conditions. Jack Dorgan and Mitch Hibberd kicked the only two goals of a scrappy and intense final term to ensure the side escaped with the valuable four points.
And the challenges are set to continue with the Blues downing top four aspirant Port Melbourne after the final siren in Round 15.
A win to the Seagulls could see them rise to third on the VFL ladder, while the Blues are looking to scrape into the finial eight with another upset on home turf.
The game starts at 1:00pm.
