Coach Clay continues development
Williamstown senior assistant Clay Illman has continued his development as a coach of the future, after being accepted into a Level 3 Coaching Course.
The course kicked off at Etihad Stadium on Monday, which included keynote speakers such as Mark Williams, David Parkin, Simon Goodwin and Neil Craig, allowing Clay to develop through the AFL Coach Education Program.
After an intensive 4-day block this week, the remainder of the Level 3 course will be completed over the next 12 months, with Illman also having completed the Next Coach Program, ran by the AFL Coaches Association, earlier this year.
Illman got a taste of being a VFL Head Coach earlier in the pre-season, when he took the reins for the practice match against North Ballarat in April as part of the Club's ongoing development of its Assistant Coaches.
