Star Forwards Re-Sign
Williamstown Football Club is thrilled to announce the re-signing of two of its most talented players, forwards Sam Dunell and Leigh Masters.
Both Dunell and Masters have been integral parts of the team since joining the Club in 2015 and 2013 respectively, and were key figures in the 2015 premiership win.
Dunell, 27, had another stellar season in his third year at the Club, finishing top five in the Club's best and fairest in 2017. Splitting more of his time between defence and attack this season, Dunell was still able to impact the scoreboard with regularity, booting 31 goals in 19 games. He also reached the milestone of 100 VFL games during the year and will again be a crucial part of the lineup in 2018.
Masters, 25, finished eighth in the Club's best and fairest after another consistent season where he too notched up 100 career VFL games. Masters kicked 25 goals in 19 games playing largely as a lead-up forward where his high leap and leadership were again major assets for the Club. Set to play his 100th game for Williamstown in 2018 after crossing from Coburg at the end of 2012, Masters will qualify for life membership of the Club next year.
