Bese ruled out for remainder of season

Courageous Seagulls defender Ben Bese has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after not recovering as expected from shoulder surgery undertaken at the beginning of the 2017 season.

The Club was expecting Bese to return to action this month, however it is expected that Bese will undergo further surgery in the coming weeks to assist in removing further complications with the damaged shoulder.

Bese will see a specialist next week to determine the course of surgery required.

"Both Ben and the Club are disappointed by the news of the ongoing issues with his shoulder as he was going well in his recovery, but unfortunately he still has some pain coming through the shoulder area after having a number of surgeries on it since 2015," said Williamstown General Manager of Football, Stephen Soulsby.

"As a Club, Ben's full recovery from the issues plaguing his shoulder are at the forefront of our mind to ensure he has a comfortable lifestyle going forward without the issues that his shoulder has given him in recent times."

Williamstown Football Club wishes Ben well in his recovery.
