Gulls bolster defensive stocks for Blues clash
Williamstown's VFLW team will be welcomed by the return of defender Rebecca Dardengo as they hunt for their second win of the season against Carlton.
While Dardengo steps back in after recovering from a leg injury, the Seagulls will unfortunately be without midfielder Erin Meade for the remainder of the season due to a shoulder injury for the Round 11 match at Ikon Park.
Meade injured her shoulder in last week's brave defeat to top of the table Collingwood at Victoria Park. Tall forward Emma Inglis is unavailable, while Kaitlin Smith and Kaitlyn Carew have both been named on the extended bench.
Round 10 debutant Madison-Eve Fenech retains her spot in the side.
The changes will see Annabelle Shannon start on a wing and Tahlia Merrett begin the match from full forward, while Sabrine Navarro has been named on a half-forward flank.
The team will see this week's opportunity as a chance to rebound from their gallant defeat last weekend.
Collingwood booted the first two goals of the match before the Seagulls hit the lead through Jasmine Kawa early in the second term.
Unfortunately Williamstown couldn't hold on in tough conditions, however they will be doing all they can to establish a change of fortunes for this week's game against the Blues.
Carlton sit two points clear of Williamstown from the bottom of the VFLW ladder after drawing with Hawthorn last weekend.
The games kicks off at 10:30am on Sunday and free entry is available.
