Schnerring, a 190cm utility originally from Warrnambool, missed the 2017 VFL season due to tearing ankle ligaments during the pre-season. Before that, he played 16 senior VFL games with the Roosters in 2016 after missing almost all of 2015 with the then-North Ballarat Rebels due to injuring his ACL. Having played a variety of roles at North Ballarat including back, forward and as a big-bodied midfielder, Schnerring will provide the Seagulls with further flexibility in regards to team selection in 2018.
