VFL Team Selection: A Triple Debut

April 17, 2025
Plenty of fresh faces as Williamstown names its 23 to play Coburg.

Williamstown will feature a host of first-gamers in its second home game of 2025, with three Seagulls set to make their debut against Coburg.

Ned Pendergast will play his first game at VFL level, while Hamish Morrison and Hamish Murphy will pull on the blue and gold for the first time.

Pendergast joins the Seagulls after making his mark in country football, almost reaching 100 games for Yarrawonga and following a similar path to a number of teammates as a former Murray Bushranger.

Morrison arrives with VFL experience, having played 10 games for Sydney in 2024, while Murphy brings a strong resume with 24 appearances for North Melbourne VFL across four seasons.

The trio will line up for Williamstown’s annual Good Friday clash against Coburg, with the Round 4 standalone match to begin at 1.05pm.

Second-year forward Heath Ollington holds his spot for just his second game of the season, while Bonar returns to the side after overcoming an injury scare in Round 3.

Co-captains Cameron Polson (quad) and Finn O’Dwyer (adductor) will remain on the sidelines after sustaining injuries in the season opener.

Blake Coleman (injured), James Cousins (injured), and Zac Pritchard (illness) all make way, with academy-listed players Kennedy, Stobie, and Impey named as emergencies.
