A look at six performances by Williamstown FC players in local leagues over the weekend of June 28, 2025.
Ned Pendergast – Yarrawonga Football Club (Ovens & Murray Football League)
Ned Pendergast delivered one of his best performances of the season in Yarrawonga’s 52-point loss to Wangaratta, finishing with 27 disposals at an impressive 89% efficiency. He led the team with 22 kicks, a game-high 12 marks, and topped the ranking points tally for Yarrawonga with 132. Despite not being named among the best, his clean ball use and ability to find space stood out in a tough outing for the Pigeons.
Luke Scicchitano – Deer Park Football Club (EDFL Premier Division)
Backing up his standout performance from last week, Luke Scicchitano was once again among Deer Park’s best in their 23-point loss to Greenvale. He collected 28 disposals, including 18 contested and went at a season-high 89% disposal efficiency, showing great composure under pressure. He also added eight clearances in a display that reinforced his consistency and impact at local level.
Hamish Murphy – North Heidelberg Football Club (NFNL)
Hamish Murphy was a solid contributor in North Heidelberg’s narrow 8-point loss to Bundoora, registering 22 disposals. He had 18 kicks and six marks, providing plenty of drive from the back half as he led the team with eight rebound 50s. While his ball use at times let him down with eight turnovers, Murphy’s ability to win the ball and launch counterattacks remained a key part of his game.
Talia Motta – Strathmore Football Club (EDFL Women’s Division One)
Talia Motta delivered a commanding performance in Strathmore’s 106-point win over Tullamarine, recognised for her impact with a game-high five goals. She brought the perfect blend of motivation and focus, living the Seagull’s values of pride, hunger and belief throughout the match. Motta supported and uplifted her teammates with strong communication and leadership in a performance that massively lifted her side on the scoreboard.
Phoebe Chisholm – Old Yarra Cobras Senior Women’s (VAFA Premier B Women’s)
Phoebe Chisholm made a strong return in her first game back for the year since recovering from a foot operation, helping Old Yarra Cobras to a 20-point win over Marcellin. Splitting her time between midfield and forward, she created several scoring opportunities for teammates and brought great energy around the contest. While she’s aiming to sharpen her shots in front of goal, it was an encouraging performance that reflected her commitment to the Seagull’s values, and her ability to slot straight back into the side’s system.
Mia Giannopoulos – Old Yarra Cobras Senior Women’s (VAFA Premier B Women’s)
Mia Giannopoulos was named among Old Yarra Cobras’ top performers in victory, capping off her day with a goal and strong all-round impact. She consistently influenced contests by winning clearances, applying pressure, and working back defensively when needed. Her tackling and selfless play helped create space for teammates to break away and generate momentum. While she’s focused on improving her bodywork at the contest, it was a well-rounded performance that highlighted her growing influence since returning from injury.
