Williamstown Football Club announces appointment of Paul Northey as CEO

The Williamstown Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Northey as Chief Executive Officer, effective Tuesday 29 July 2025.

Paul brings a wealth of senior executive experience across the superannuation, insurance and financial services sectors. He also brings with him a deep commitment to sport and community development. Paul’s passion has been evident in his involvement with community organisations, including serving as board member and director of Eltham College until 2021. He also coached at a representative level for the Eltham Wildcats Basketball Club for eight years, and held multiple roles, including President, committee member and coach at the Research Junior Football Club from 2013 to 2024.

Club President Merryl Dooley welcomed the appointment saying: 

“We are pleased to welcome Paul to the Williamstown Football Club. He brings the right balance of commercial and leadership experience, and a passion for community sport. Paul is well-placed to guide our great Club through this next chapter, and we’re excited for what’s to come.” 

Paul expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity saying:  

“It’s a real privilege to join the Williamstown Football Club as CEO. This is a proud Club with a rich history and I’m looking forward to working closely with the Board, staff, players, members and broader community to build on the legacy both on and off the field.” 

“I am excited about the prospect to lead the Club, and to work hard and create opportunities and achieve success on and off the field”.  

The Williamstown Football Club extends a warm welcome to Paul and his family, and looks forward to an exciting new chapter under this leadership.
