Ahead of his third consecutive finals campaign with the Seagulls, the former Melbourne Demons assistant coach has recommitted to leading Williamstown’s VFL program.
Already contracted until the end of 2025, Plapp’s extension ensures his leadership for at least an additional season.
Plapp’s re-signing follows a 10–8 home and away season, including an eight-game winning streak between Rounds 6 and 15.
After introducing a completely new team of assistant coaches for this season, his side has positioned themselves inside the competition’s top 10, securing a wildcard finals berth this Sunday.
Now in his fifth year at DSV Stadium, Plapp has consistently demonstrated an ability to elevate his players so they can enjoy career-best campaigns in the blue and gold.
Williamstown Chief Executive Officer Paul Northey praised Plapp’s impact on the program.
“Even in the short time I’ve been here, I can already see the quality of the program he has put in place,” Northey said.
“The passion he has not just for the players, but for the Club as a whole is really clear, and we couldn’t be more excited to see him continue in 2026.”
Plapp said he was pleased to extend his tenure and have another year to work with his Seagulls.
“I’ve loved what we’ve been creating as a football club — the five years have gone really quickly,” Plapp said.
“The people around this place are a big part of the reason I want to continue here, so I’m really looking forward to another year together.”
