Williamstown Football Club has finalised its men’s playing list for the 2026 VFL season with the BIG signing of former Carlton Football Club ruckman Alex Mirkov.

Mirkov arrives at DSV Stadium after time on Carlton’s AFL list, having originally been selected in the 2021 Mid-Season Rookie Draft after impressing in the club’s VFL program.
Standing at 210cm, the athletic ruckman is one of the tallest players in Australian football and developed his craft in the AFL system after transitioning to the game from a basketball background.
Now, the imposing ruckman has landed at Williamstown, where he will add height, athleticism and AFL experience to the Seagulls’ ruck division heading into the 2026 campaign.
Williamstown sees the addition of Mirkov as a major boost ahead of the 2026 campaign, with the towering big man set to provide strength around stoppages, aerial presence and support for the club’s midfield group.
For Mirkov, the move to Williamstown presents an exciting opportunity to continue his football journey and make an immediate impact in the VFL.
With Mirkov officially on board, Williamstown’s men’s squad is now locked in as the Seagulls prepare for the 2026 VFL season.
