Williamstown looks to build on its early-season form this Saturday as they return to DSV Stadium for the first time in 2026, to host Southport for an afternoon encounter. Following a week to reset and refine their structures, the Seagulls are prepared for a physical battle against the interstate visitors, with the siren scheduled for 12:05 PM.
The match marks a major individual milestone for the club, as Jack McHale (1) is set to run out for his 50th game in the blue and gold. Since joining the Seagulls, McHale has become a mainstay of the lineup, and the team will be eager to celebrate his contribution with a clinical performance on home soil.
However, the Seagulls will be forced to make a significant change to their leadership group this week.
Skipper Finn O’Dwyer will unfortunately be sidelined after sustaining a shoulder dislocation during a training session over the bye week. The club will support Finn through his recovery process, with his veteran presence still expected to be felt off the field while he rehabilitates the injury.
In O’Dwyer’s absence, the Seagulls have named a formidable side headlined by a powerful tall timber rotation. Alex Mirkov (49) and Brayden Preuss (11) will lead the charge in the air, providing a daunting challenge for the Southport defense. They are well-supported by a versatile midfield featuring Diesel Moloney (9) and Cameron Polson (5), while the defensive unit remains anchored by the reliable Heath Ollington (15) and Luke Parks (22).
With a mix of milestone celebrations and the determination to overcome the loss of their captain, Williamstown enters Round 4 focused on maintaining their momentum and proving why they remain a force by the bay.
