Danica Pedersen
Headlining the re-signings is Danica Pedersen, who returns to the Seagulls after previously debuting in 2019 and spending two seasons at the club, returning for the 2023 season.
Recruited from Essendon Football Club, Pedersen brings valuable experience and leadership to the group. After an injury-interrupted 2025 campaign, her recommitment marks an important boost, with the club confident she can make a strong impact both on and off the field in 2026.
Bronte Ashworth
Ruck Bronte Ashworth has also recommitted, with the 182cm prospect continuing to build toward her VFLW debut. Recruited from Castlemaine Football Netball Club, Ashworth has been developing her craft at local level with West Brunswick in the VAFA Premier Women’s competition.
She has shown strong competitiveness in the ruck, highlighted by her ability to impact the scoreboard and stand up in challenging matches, underlining her potential as a developing tall.
Eloise Burdett-Moore
Eloise Burdett-Moore, who joined the club in 2025 from Kew Football Club, will remain in blue and gold as she continues to push for her VFLW debut.
A composed and intelligent reader of the play, Burdett-Moore has impressed with her intercept marking, ability to win one-on-one contests and damaging ball use. Her performances at local level, including generating score assists and consistently influencing play, signal she’s not far off senior selection.
Charli Sette
Charli Sette has also re-signed following her debut season in 2025. Recruited from Point Cook Centrals Sporting Club, Sette’s rapid rise through the Western region football ranks has been impressive.
A former gymnast, she brings elite athleticism, strong running capacity and natural goal sense. After earning her VFLW debut in Round 13 last season, Sette showed she can compete at the level and will look to build greater consistency in 2026.
Claire Lightfoot
2025 debutant, Claire Lightfoot, will continue her journey with Williamstown in the upcoming season. Joining from the GWV Rebels and Ballarat Swans pathway, Lightfoot has developed through junior programs and transitioned well into the Seagulls system.
Her ability to read the play and provide defensive support makes her an important piece of the club’s backline depth as she continues to grow her game.
Melina Ciavarella
Rounding out the re-signings is Melina Ciavarella, who also debuted in 2025 and has already begun building her experience at VFLW level. A former GWV Rebels player like Lightfoot, Ciavarella earned her opportunity after consistent performances at local level and has featured in multiple games for the Seagulls.
Her progression highlights the strength of the club’s development pathway, with further improvement expected as she gains continuity at the level.
These re-signings reflect Williamstown’s commitment to continuity, development and rewarding emerging talent as the club builds towards a strong and competitive 2026 VFLW campaign.
