Williamstown Football Club will celebrate Indigenous Round under Friday night lights at DSV Stadium this week, hosting Box Hill Hawks in a blockbuster Round 9 clash at 7:05pm.
The Seagulls will unveil two exciting debutants, with Josh Huxtable and Tom Fry both set to make their VFL and Club debuts in the blue and gold.
Huxtable, a 21-year-old forward recruited from Bacchus Marsh Seniors ahead of the 2026 season, has impressed with his strong aerial presence and scoreboard impact after kicking 25 goals in 19 games last year. An exciting addition to Williamstown’s attacking group, the 186cm forward will look to bring energy and pressure to the Seagulls’ front half.
Fry also joins the Club for his first VFL appearance after arriving from Queensland ahead of the 2026 season. The 19-year-old midfielder previously played with Sherwood Districts Australian Football Club in the AFL Queensland League and has quickly developed within the Seagulls’ program. An inside midfielder known for his work rate and toughness around the contest, Fry adds exciting midfield depth as he transitions to VFL level.
Williamstown will also welcome back two important players from injury, with ruck Braydon Preuss returning alongside Harry Minton-Connell. Their inclusion adds valuable experience and stability across the ground as the Seagulls prepare for a crucial home clash.
The Indigenous Round fixture provides an important opportunity for the Club to recognise and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and contributions to Australian football, with the Seagulls proud to take part in the league-wide celebrations across the weekend.
Fresh off a strong win two weeks ago, Williamstown will be looking to continue its momentum in front of a home crowd against a fellow finals contender in Box Hill.
The Seagulls encourage all supporters to get down to DSV Stadium on Friday night and be part of a massive Indigenous Round clash.
