Williamstown’s VFL side returns to action this Sunday afternoon, taking on Port Melbourne at ETU Stadium in the second match of a huge Seagulls double-header.
The Seagulls will unveil two new faces in blue and gold, with Lachlan Wilson and Ryan Jacobs both set to make their Williamstown debuts after joining the Club during the week.
Wilson arrives at DSV Stadium as a former Richmond VFL midfielder and two-time Best and Fairest winner. Renowned for his toughness around the contest, leadership and relentless work rate, the 27-year-old brings a wealth of experience to the Seagulls’ midfield group.
Jacobs also joins the Club with valuable VFL experience, having previously played 19 games with Frankston. A versatile utility capable of impacting multiple areas of the ground, Jacobs is expected to add strength and composure to Williamstown’s defensive setup.
While the Seagulls welcome two debutants, they will also regain two important leaders, with Toby Triffett and Jack Toner both returning to the side this weekend.
The experienced pair provide a significant boost as Williamstown looks to build momentum throughout the second half of the season, adding leadership, class and experience across the field.
The clash presents another important opportunity for the Seagulls as they continue their push towards finals, with a mix of fresh faces and returning experience strengthening the line-up heading into Sunday’s contest.
Supporters are encouraged to make a day of it at ETU Stadium, with the VFLW side opening proceedings against Port Melbourne at 11:30am before the VFL team takes centre stage at 2:05pm.
