VFLW Team Selection: Seagulls unchanged for third straight week

June 12, 2026

By Mietta Williams, Williamstown Media

Williamstown’s VFLW side will return home this weekend as they prepare to host Sandringham at DSV Stadium on Saturday.

The Seagulls enter the clash in strong form after a commanding 50-9 victory over Port Melbourne at ETU Stadium in Round 4, a result that saw Williamstown hold their position at third on the VFLW ladder.

In a significant show of confidence from the coaching group, Williamstown has named an unchanged line-up for the third consecutive week, rewarding a group that has continued to build consistency and momentum throughout the opening month of the season.

Saturday’s contest shapes as an important early-season test, with Sandringham sitting fourth on the ladder, just one position behind the Seagulls.

With both sides firmly in finals contention, Williamstown will be eager to secure another four points and strengthen its position among the competition’s leading teams.

There is also positive news on the injury front, with several key players edging closer to a return.

New Seagull and 2026 leader Ellie McLinden, ruck Lilly Pearce, and former Geelong VFLW player Maighan Fogas are all progressing well in their recoveries and are expected to return within the next five weeks.

It’s a massive day at DSV Stadium on Saturday, with supporters invited to enjoy a double-header of Seagulls football. Our VFL side kicks things off against the GWS Giants at 12:05pm, before the VFLW team takes on Sandringham at 4:35pm in a crucial top-four clash.
