Parks to play 50th game for Williamstown

June 15, 2026
Vice-captain and dual Gerry Callahan Medallist Luke Parks is set to reach a significant milestone this weekend, playing his 50th game for Williamstown when the Seagulls take on Casey Demons.

Since arriving at DSV Stadium ahead of the 2024 season, Parks has quickly established himself as one of the premier defenders in the VFL, earning widespread recognition for his intercept marking, leadership and consistency across half-back.

The milestone caps off an impressive football journey for the 24-year-old, whose pursuit of an AFL opportunity saw him relocate from New South Wales to South Australia in 2020 to join Glenelg and further develop his game.

That decision proved pivotal when Carlton selected Parks with pick No.8 in the 2021 NAB AFL Rookie Draft, rewarding years of hard work and dedication.

Following his AFL stint, Parks joined Williamstown ahead of the 2024 season and wasted little time making his mark in blue and gold.

In his debut year at the Club, Parks claimed the Gerry Callahan Medal as Williamstown’s Best and Fairest, earned selection in the Smithy’s VFL Team of the Year and led the Seagulls for marks, averaging an impressive 7.8 per game.

Rather than resting on that success, Parks elevated his game even further in 2025.

He secured back-to-back Best and Fairest awards, was once again named in the VFL Team of the Year, and established himself as one of the competition’s most dominant key defenders. Across 20 matches, he averaged 16.6 disposals and a league-leading 10.3 marks per game, recording double-digit marks on eight occasions.

His outstanding performances, professionalism and leadership qualities were recognised again this season when he was elevated to vice-captain of the Club.

Across his first 49 appearances for Williamstown, Parks has become a cornerstone of the Seagulls’ defence and one of the most respected players in the VFL competition.

Whether soaring for an intercept mark, organising teammates behind the ball or leading by example around the Club, Parks’ impact extends well beyond the statistics.

Reaching 50 games is a fitting reward for his commitment and contribution to Williamstown, and the Club congratulates Luke on the milestone achievement.

Supporters are encouraged to get down to DSV Stadium this weekend and help celebrate Luke’s 50th game in blue and gold as the Seagulls look to secure another important victory over Casey Demons.

Game starts at 12:05pm.
