The Seagulls have named their side for Round 17 as we prepare for a historic first-ever meeting against the Tasmania Devils this Saturday, 18 July, at DSV Stadium.
The highly anticipated clash will form part of a special VFL and VFLW double header, with both Williamstown sides taking on Tasmania for the first time in club history.
Following last weekend’s interstate draw against Sydney, the Seagulls have made a number of changes to their lineup, headlined by the return of forward Josh D’Intinosante.
D’Intinosante returns to the side after recovering from a foot injury sustained during our Round 14 clash against Southport, providing a welcome boost as the Seagulls enter the final stages of the 2026 season.
The Round 17 side will also feature a VFL debut, with Mitch Toner set to make his first senior appearance in the famous blue and gold jumper.
The younger brother of vice-captain Jack Toner, Mitch has been impressing after training with the VFL squad in recent weeks and joins the team following strong performances with the Dandenong Stingrays in the AFL’s Talent Pathway competition, the Coates Talent League.
M. Toner will run out in the number 40 guernsey for his first game at VFL level.
After playing last weekend, Josh Huxtable and Bailey Ryan will miss this week’s clash.
With just three home games remaining in the 2026 campaign, Saturday’s matchup carries significant importance as the Seagulls continue their push towards a top-six finish.
Williamstown currently sits 10th on the ladder with a record of seven wins, one draw and six losses, while Tasmania enters the contest in seventh position with eight wins, one draw and five losses.
The Seagulls will be looking to make history and claim a crucial four points in their first-ever battle against the Devils.
