A cornerstone of Williamstown’s defensive unit, Blue enjoyed another consistent campaign in 2026, featuring in every game and playing a pivotal role in the Seagulls’ run to the VFLW Grand Final.

Her outstanding season was recognised at the 2026 VFL and VFLW Awards Night, where Blue was named in the VFLW Team of the Year alongside four other Seagulls.

Since joining Williamstown from Coorparoo in 2024, Blue has established herself as a key figure in the Seagulls’ backline, bringing consistency, composure and defensive pressure to the side.

Alongside Blue, Smith has also committed to Williamstown for 2027 after an impressive first season with the club.

The 22-year-old missed just one game throughout the 2026 campaign, averaging 16.5 disposals and 5.9 tackles per game while providing valuable pressure and drive in the forward half.

Arriving at the Seagulls with 12 games of AFLW experience across Brisbane and Geelong, Smith continued to build her game at VFLW level, adding another dimension to Williamstown’s forward line.

With both players recommitting ahead of 2027, the Seagulls will welcome back two important contributors as they look to build on their 2026 campaign.

The Williamstown Football Club congratulates Laura and Bella on their re-signings and looks forward to seeing them back in the blue and gold next season.
