The talented Western Jets graduate arrives at DSV Stadium following a stint with St Kilda’s VFL program in 2026, bringing an exciting combination of athleticism, versatility and goal-kicking ability to the Seagulls.
Ainsworth emerged as a highly regarded prospect during his time with the Western Jets, booting 35 goals across 28 Talent League appearances between 2024 and 2025.
His impressive performances attracted AFL interest, earning him an opportunity to train with St Kilda during the 2026 Supplemental Selection Period (SSP) after narrowly missing selection in the 2025 AFL National Draft.
Despite being overlooked for an AFL list position, Ainsworth secured a VFL contract with the Saints, where he made two appearances and kicked two goals during the 2026 season.
A pre-season hamstring injury interrupted his preparations, but the young forward demonstrated resilience in working his way back to competitive football.
Known for his strong contested marking, speed and ability to impact the scoreboard, Ainsworth offers versatility across the forward line, with the capability to rotate through the midfield.
His arrival provides Williamstown with another promising attacking option as the Club continues to build its playing list ahead of the 2027 campaign.
The Seagulls look forward to welcoming Ainsworth to the Nest as he begins the next chapter of his football career in the blue and gold.
