The 21-year-old arrives at DSV Stadium with eight games of AFL experience and an impressive VFL résumé, adding further depth, versatility and elite running power to Williamstown’s midfield.

Originally recruited from the Dandenong Stingrays, Binns was selected by Carlton with pick 32 in the 2022 AFL National Draft following a standout junior career that established him as one of the country’s leading endurance prospects.

The 183cm midfielder made an immediate impression in his first season at IKON Park, claiming Carlton’s VFL Best and Fairest award in 2023 after producing a consistently strong campaign at state league level.

His performances earned him an AFL debut in Round 7 of the 2024 season against Geelong, before going on to make eight senior appearances across the 2024 and 2025 seasons.

Following his departure from Carlton at the conclusion of 2025, Binns joined Essendon’s VFL program for the 2026 season, where he continued to demonstrate his ability to impact games at state league level.

Across 18 appearances for the Bombers, Binns averaged 21.8 disposals, 14.3 kicks and 5.2 marks per game, while also contributing seven goals throughout the season.

Williamstown’s GM Football Josh Rhodes said the Club was excited to secure Binns’ ahead of the 2027 campaign.

“We’re thrilled to secure Jaxon’s signature and excited about what he can bring to our young side. Securing players with AFL experience is never easy, so his decision to join Williamstown is a great reflection of what we’re building here at the Club.”

His signing represents another important addition to Williamstown’s playing list as the Club continues to build towards its first season under newly appointed VFL Senior Coach Torin Baker.

The Club looks forward to welcoming Binns to Williamstown as preparations continue for the upcoming VFL campaign.
