Ash Collins joins Williamstown as the General Manager of Football Operations, his role to commence February 26th.
With fifteen years of experience in the sporting industry, Collins has developed a comprehensive skill set in collaborating across departments and building strong connections with players, coaches, and staff. His expertise make him the perfect fit for a role that demands both a deep understanding of the game and the ability to oversee all facets of football operations.
Collins, who managed Werribee Football Club’s football program during their premiership-winning season last year, has also worked with AFL clubs Brisbane, Sydney, and Collingwood in strategy, performance, and opposition analysis roles. Most notably, Collins spent ten years at Collingwood, beginning as a Performance Analyst and advancing to a Strategy Coach and Pro Scout, working closely with the club’s head coaches.
Collins’ role at Williamstown will require him to coordinate all off field support to ensure players, coaches, and support staff can reach their full potential. Working closely with our Football Operations volunteers, Collins will oversee training sessions and match-day operations to ensure professionalism behind the scenes.
“Ash brings a wealth of experience to this dynamic role,” said Williamstown CEO Ashley Baker.
“We are thrilled to welcome Ash Collins as our new General Manager of Football Operations. With his exceptional leadership skills and a deep understanding of the VFL/W competition and the broader football industry, Ash brings invaluable experience to our club. His passion for the game, combined with his ability to manage and inspire across all levels, makes him the perfect addition to our team as we continue to build towards future success in both the VFL and VFLW.”
As the 2025 season approaches, Williamstown Football Club is pleased to welcome Ash Collins, whose leadership supports the Club’s ambitions for a successful year. The Club looks forward to having Ash and his family as part of the Williamstown community and extends its best wishes to him for the season ahead.
