Ben Kane has stepped down from his role as Board Director at the Williamstown Football Club, with fellow Board member David Ginnane to take over the role as Treasurer.
Kane, who joined the Club’s Board in December 2018, has played a key role in overseeing the Club’s financial direction over the past six years.
Reflecting on his tenure, he expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the Club and its people.
“When I first joined, I didn’t quite understand what the WFC feeling was. I get it now. It’s hard to describe, and I feel extremely lucky to have been a part of the Club, especially as Finance Director, over the last six years,” Kane said.
Among his proudest achievements, Kane highlighted the Club’s ability to navigate the financial challenges posed by COVID-19, ensuring stability during an uncertain time for football.
He also played a pivotal role in securing the financial health of the Club to support major renovations and improvements, all while maintaining a strong commitment to the well-being of players, staff, and supporters.
“Great football clubs have great people, and I have been fortunate to work closely with an amazingly talented Board, serve under three outstanding Presidents, and witness firsthand the growth and maturity of our Club leaders across both football programs,” he said.
“The tireless efforts of our staff, volunteers, and supporters all encompass the Williamstown Football Club’s DNA and why we are who we are.”
The Club sincerely thanks Ben for his dedication and contributions and welcomes David Ginnane to the Treasurer role as the Club looks ahead to season 2025.
