Forward Teagan Brett is set to play her 50th game for Williamstown when the Seagulls take on Port Melbourne this Sunday, marking an important achievement in a career defined by perseverance, talent and continual growth.
Since joining Williamstown in 2023, Brett has established herself as one of the Club’s most reliable attacking players, combining speed, football intelligence and scoreboard impact to become a key part of the Seagulls’ forward line.
The 25-year-old’s football journey has been anything but conventional.
After stepping away from the game for several years to pursue cricket at state level, Brett returned to football in 2019 with modest expectations.
Initially hoping simply to earn a place in the Murray Bushrangers program, she instead enjoyed a remarkable rise through the ranks.
Brett featured in every game of Murray’s NAB League Girls season before earning selection with Vic Country at the AFLW Under-18 Championships. Her impressive form soon led to a VFLW opportunity with Richmond, where she announced herself in spectacular fashion by kicking three goals on debut.
Since then, Brett has continued to develop into a proven performer at VFLW level. Her 2025 campaign was her most consistent to date, playing all 16 matches, kicking seven goals and earning two best-on-ground performances as one of Williamstown’s most influential players.
Across her football career, Brett has built an impressive record in front of goal, kicking more than 110 career goals while becoming a respected leader and teammate both on and off the field.
Reaching 50 games for Williamstown is a testament to Brett’s resilience, commitment and contribution to the Club.
The milestone provides a fitting opportunity for teammates, coaches and supporters to celebrate Brett’s contribution to the Seagulls, with plenty more still to come.
Supporters are encouraged to get down to ETU Stadium this Sunday and get behind Teagan and the VFLW side as they take on Port Melbourne in the opening match of a huge double-header.
