Williamstown Football Club VFL Vice-Captain Jake Greiser has re-signed for the 2025 season, extending his time at the club into a remarkable 12th year.
A true Seagull since arriving from the Western Jets back in 2014, Greiser has now reached 174 games in the blue and gold.
Despite playing finals in each of his first five seasons at the club, the ultimate prize – a VFL premiership – has so far eluded him.
Greiser missed out on a spot in the 2015 premiership-winning team and played in the devastating three-point Grand Final loss to Richmond in 2019.
Additionally, his 2023 and 2024 seasons with Williamstown both ended in the semi-final, with back-to-back losses to the Brisbane Lions.
Now, with unfinished business and a burning desire to reach the pinnacle, Greiser is ready to go again in 2025.
When asked what cemented his decision to stay for another year, Greiser said:
“Like-minded people and a community, all working hard to achieve something special together – and of course, the elusive flag.”
“Williamstown’s my home.”
Senior VFL Coach Justin Plapp and the 2025 playing group eagerly awaited Greiser’s decision and are ecstatic to have him on board again for 2025.
“Jake brings experience, leadership, and passion to this club,” Plapp said.
“As always, we’ll do everything we can to make 2025 our year.”
Greiser’s re-signing finalises our 2025 VFL list, setting the Seagulls up for a big campaign ahead.
