The milestone marks six years of outstanding leadership since Plapp took the reins ahead of the 2021 season, guiding the Seagulls through one of the most challenging periods in the Club’s history and helping establish Williamstown as a consistent finals contender.
Arriving during the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, Plapp quickly set the foundations for a program built on resilience, professionalism and connection. Across his tenure, he has fostered an environment centred on high standards, accountability and continuous improvement, while playing a significant role in the development of countless players both on and off the field.
Drawing on seven years of AFL experience as both a player and assistant coach, Plapp has brought a wealth of football knowledge to Williamstown, while remaining committed to the Club’s proud values and community-first culture.
Under his leadership, the Seagulls have returned to sustained competitiveness, securing multiple finals appearances and helping numerous players earn opportunities at the AFL level. Beyond the results, Plapp’s lasting impact has been the culture he has built, one that challenges individuals to improve, values selfless teamwork and embraces the pride of representing Williamstown.
As he prepares to lead the Seagulls for the 100th time, Plapp’s focus remains unchanged, continuing to drive the Club forward and creating an environment where players can thrive.
The Williamstown Football Club congratulates Justin on reaching 100 games as Senior Coach and thanks him for his outstanding contribution to the blue and gold.
