A product of the Williamstown pathway, Dawson has developed into a powerhouse presence inside 50, combining his strength and aerial ability with a reliable eye for goal.
Standing at 195cm, Dawson was selected by the Kangaroos in the 2022 Mid-Season Draft and went on to play 19 AFL games, gaining valuable experience at the highest level before returning to Williamstown.
Dawson’s connection with the Club runs deep. A Williamstown Junior Football Club product, he progressed through the local ranks before joining Williamstown CYMS, where he became a premiership player and claimed the prestigious 2021 Fearon Medal as the CYMS Senior Men’s Best and Fairest.
He previously played 12 VFL games for the Seagulls before earning his AFL opportunity, with 2026 Williamstown senior coach Justin Plapp playing a key role in his development throughout his early VFL career.
Since returning to DSV Stadium, Dawson has quickly established himself as a key component of the Seagulls’ forward line.
The key forward has not missed a game so far this season, averaging 14.3 disposals and six marks per game while booting 35 goals in a dominant campaign.
His consistency, physical presence and ability to hit the scoreboard have made him one of Williamstown’s most dangerous forward targets, and the Club is thrilled to have him recommit for another season.
Dawson joins captain Finn O’Dwyer among the Seagulls already committed for the 2027 season, as Williamstown continues to build its list for another VFL campaign.
