National Volunteer Week: Celebrating Our Beloved Volunteers

May 22, 2025
During National Volunteer Week, we’re saluting the Seagulls’ unsung heroes whose passion and generosity keep Williamstown FC soaring on and off the field.

This week marks National Volunteer Week (May 19-25, 2025), Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering.

This year’s theme is Connecting Communities, highlighting the importance of fostering community engagement, connection, and a sense of belonging.

At Williamstown Football Club, we proudly celebrate the fantastic volunteers who are the heart and soul of our club.

From game day support to behind-the-scenes operations, our volunteer program is among the most extensive in the VFL/W.

We depend on a passionate team across a wide variety of roles, including:

  • BBQ Attendants
  • Football Operations Assistants
  • Gate Entry Attendants
  • Membership Sales
  • Scoreboard Attendants
  • Ticket Box Attendants
  • Raffle Ticket Sales
  • Merchandise Sales
  • Timekeepers
  • Photographers

Beyond these roles, we also appreciate the efforts of our administrative and high-performance interns and of course our Club directors. Each of these individuals generously donates their time and skills to help our club thrive.

Our volunteers are the lifeblood of Williamstown FC, fostering a welcoming and professional atmosphere for players, members, and supporters alike. Their dedication, warmth, and community spirit consistently uphold our proud traditions, both on and off the field.

A special mention must go to our very own Volunteer Coordinator, Mandy Drew, who is also a volunteer herself. Mandy leads by example, dedicating countless hours to ensure our volunteers feel valued and supported. She truly embodies the essence of this week.

As we celebrate National Volunteer Week, we strongly encourage everyone in the Seagulls community to take a moment to thank the volunteers around them or even consider getting involved. There really is a role for everyone.

To all our volunteers, thank you. You make Williamstown FC the Club it is today.
