Kim first became involved in the administration of the Club when he was appointed as an associate director under the presidency of Tony Hannebery in 1991.
Kim then became a full director in 1992 and 1993 before taking over the presidency from Graham Oborne during the 1994 season.
Kim then steered the Club through the dark days of the winless 1995 season when the Club was seemingly facing oblivion or a one-sided merger with the Werribee Football Club.
With Kim’s determination and passion for the Club, backed by the Williamstown community, the Seagulls survived and ultimately prospered and two more premierships (2003 & 2015) have been secured since those dark times.
Kim’s wife, Sharon, was also heavily involved with the Club during the 90’s, taking over from Ray Moloney as general manager during 1990 and again in 1991 when she took over from Gavin Keane. Sharon was again general manager during 1995 as well as a director.
Kim’s enormous contribution to our Club in the worst of times will never be forgotten and the Club, members, players and supporters are forever indebted to Kim’s mighty efforts to keep the Williamstown Football Club afloat during the tumultuous mid-1990’s. Williamstown and Altona have lost one of its finest.
Sincere condolences are extended to Sharon and the entire Walsh family at this sad time.
RIP Kim.
