The Board thanks Paul for his contribution during his tenure and looks forward to working closely with him over the coming months as the Club progresses through the season.
Club President Merryl Dooley acknowledged the Club’s current position, saying:
“Williamstown currently has a high-performing football program with a strong start to the season, a stable, high-calibre management team, coaching group, and football department, strong commercial partnerships, sponsorship support, and a committed member base, and ongoing investment in facilities, long-term assets, and community programs.
Leadership continuity is a priority, and we are confident in the capability and depth of our organisation to ensure stability and continued performance across all areas of the Club.”
The Club remains in a strong position on and off the field, with its strategic direction well established and no change to day-to-day operations.
Reflecting on his time at Williamstown, Paul Northey said:
“This has not been an easy decision. I have greatly valued my time at the Williamstown Football Club and am grateful for the way I have been welcomed and supported throughout my tenure.
The Club is one of the leading elite football programs in the VFL, with outstanding people across every level of the organisation. I remain fully committed for the remainder of the season and look forward to seeing the Club continue its success.”
