Seagull Sightings at Local Level – July 12,13 & 19,20

July 25, 2025
The past fortnight has seen plenty of movement across the club. With the VAFA on a two-week bye, Williamstown has made several lineup changes, calling on players recently active at local level. The VFL side has endured two tough losses, while the VFLW team split their results with a win and a loss. Only a handful of Seagulls have featured in local leagues during this period, with Hamish Morrison and Brittney Gray among those delivering standout performances in the EDFL.

A look at five performances by Williamstown FC players in local leagues over the weekends of July 12th and July 19th.

Hamish Murphy – North Heidelberg Football Club (NFNL Division 1)

Hamish Murphy continued his strong patch of form in a tough outing for North Heidelberg, who fell to Montmorency by 92 points. Named among the best, Murphy gathered 31 disposals, including 24 kicks and provided constant drive from defence. He recorded a game-high 11 rebound 50s and finished with a team-high 117 ranking points. Despite the heavy loss, Murphy’s ability to relieve pressure stood out as a clear positive for the Bulldogs.

Hamish Morrison – Airport West Football Club (EDFL Premier Division)

Hamish Morrison was recognised as one of Airport West’s key contributors in their 26-point win over Greenvale, producing another well-rounded performance. He finished with 24 disposals, including 15 kicks, and lifted his disposal efficiency by 33% in comparison to his outing the week prior. Morrison also applied strong pressure with eight tackles and delivered six inside 50s. He finished with 120 ranking points in a performance that balanced intensity and clean ball use.

Ben Kennedy – Yarrawonga Football Club (Ovens and Murray Seniors Football League)

Ben Kennedy was highlighted as one of Yarrawonga’s most impactful players in their 65-point loss to Myrtleford, hitting the scoreboard with three goals. He was strong in the air, taking six marks, (three contested), and worked hard to generate opportunities inside 50. Kennedy also delivered four forward entries and finished with 80 ranking points in a performance that stood out despite the team’s difficult day.

Brittney Gray Oak Park Football Club (EDFL Premier Division)

Brittney Gray impressed for Oak Park in their Round 13 68–13 win over Essendon Doutta Stars. Lining up against fellow Seagull Camryn Bux, Gray was named among the best players after making a strong impact through the midfield, kicking a goal and contributing to a dominant four-goal second term. She looked composed under pressure, consistently kept her feet through tackles, and is focused on improving her follow-up efforts post-disposal in the weeks ahead.

Krissy Trang – Burnside Heights (EDFL Division One)

Krissy Trang starred on the wing in Burnside Heights’ 40–16 victory over Tullamarine in Round 12. Named among the best players, Trang delivered a consistent four-quarter performance, maintaining her defensive pressure as hoped. She showed great composure under pressure, applying strong bumps, tackles and spoils when needed throughout the game. Despite not being as quick during transition as she has been in the past, Trang prepares for the final game of the season against Coburg Districts in extremely decent form.
