Seagulls co-captain extends

October 7, 2025
Williamstown's 2025 co-captain Cameron Polson has finalised a contract extension to remain a Seagull until at least the end next season.

The new deal gives Polson the opportunity to further build on his 59 Williamstown games to date, having celebrated his 50th milestone match against Werribee earlier this season.

Initially drafted to Carlton in the 2016 AFL Draft, Polson crossed to the nest ahead of the 2021 season and quickly became a key figure in the Club’s leadership.

Since taking over the captaincy in 2022, he has steered the Seagulls to three consecutive finals campaigns across 2023, 2024, and 2025.

Williamstown Football Club CEO Paul Northey said it’s clear how much Polson means to the players and everyone around him.

“Despite a few setbacks with injury this year, Cam continued to provide strong leadership within the playing group and around the Club,” Northey said.

“Cam demonstrates the professionalism and loyalty that set the tone for our men’s program. We’re determined to take the next step in our quest for success, and Cam will play a critical role in helping us achieve that.”

Polson now joins fellow 2025 skipper Finn O’Dwyer and vice-captain Jack Toner in recommitting to the Club for the season ahead.
